We are HIS.

Started in 2021, H-I-S Mission &

Outreach is a religious Non-Profit

501c3 providing spiritual,

educational, and nutritional

support to those less fortunate

in Nicaragua and wherever the

Lord would lead.

The majority of everything we
do is in Nicaragua, but we have
done work in Guatemala and
Honduras. In the church of the Nazarene this is referred to as the Meso America region.

We do what the Lord puts on our heart!

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.
Proverbs 19:17

About founder Harley Weidlich

Harley Weidlich is the President of H-I-S as well as the East Ohio District Work & Witness Coordinator, and KCCOTN NMI President.

He will tell you this is God's project, not his.

He is quick to give God credit for the good things he has been able to accomplish. An unlikely type for this kind of work, Harley was not just a troubled youth but he lost his father when he was just 9 yrs old. By age 16, Harley was paying the bills and taking care of his mother the only way he knew how. In and out of prison for selling drugs Harley was on a fast track to nowhere. During one of those prison stints he gave his life to the Lord and has proven that God will use the least of us to do His best work.

Harley and his wife of 26 years raised their 4 children in Akron, Ohio. He went on his first mission trip in 2012 and has been leading mission trips for a decade. He also holds down regular jobs as a production manager and sales associate for two separate companies.

About Nicaragua

Nicaragua is one of Latin America’s least developed countries. With a vast difference between rural and city life, about one-third of Nicaraguans live in poverty and approximately 8% live in extreme poverty. About 41% of Nicaragua's entire population lives in concentrated areas of rural villages and half of that population lives below the poverty line. Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere next to Haiti.

Just over 70% of children finish primary school. There are many barriers that keep children from accessing education, particularly for those in rural areas, including food scarcity. Due to food insecurity and poverty, 17% of children under age 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition.

But you can help. One family, one child at a time.
